I grew up in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin ( Yes, the home of Leinenkugel Beer). I graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School ( Chi-Hi) in 2013. Unfortunately, my high school didn’t have a full-fledged theatre program. It did however have two plays and a musical every year, which is more then some. So, I had exposure to theatre by either performing or helping out with the two plays every year. The shows were always the highlights of the years. I enjoyed being able to help put on a show that could be enjoyed by others. I fostered my love of theatre during my four years of high school and enjoyed every minute of each production.
When I got to college at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to continue with Theatre being an English Education Major. I decided to take a theatre class as an elective my first semester and my teacher encouraged me to audition for the fall shows, and somehow I got cast in a show, Italian-American Reconciliation(I’m still not sure how or why,as I’m not that good of an actor). After being in Italian-American Reconciliation and that class I realized that my love of theatre far out weighed my love of English and changed my major to Theatre Education.
I’m now studying more of the behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre. I’ve learned I’m more comfortable being behind-the-scenes. I’ve worked on other show since Italian-American Reconciliation all behind-the-scenes. I’m eager to learn as much as I can about any aspect of this behind-the-scenes world. I’m using this blog to document my learning and as depository for resources that I find on subject of stage makeup.
